Spur DRSU rugby tournament takes place in and around Kwazulu Natal region. It has two leagues “Mini’s “ and “Colts” that run during different time slots of the year, giving boys 6- 18 the opportunity to display their talents and the love of the beautiful
DRSU Rugby began in Durban in 2007 with only three clubs participating and starting their own league. It has grown immensely over the years and has even split into two leagues that run during different time slots in the year.
The “Minis” league is played during the months of April to June and consists of boys and girls aged 6 to 11 years. This is an exciting and fun time of the year where the young children are able to display their talent and love for the game.
Towards the latter half of the year between June to October, things start to heat up and become more competitive when the “Colts” season begins. These young men between the ages of 12 and 18 compete to win their respective leagues. This becomes a highly competitive period with some great rugby put on show.
As we draw to the end of the “Colts” season, a Sharks Youth Club Team is selected in each age group. 140 talented boys aged 12-18 partake in an Inter-Provincial Tournament, which takes place in Johannesburg.
